            [As Sakamoto Ryouma and Miegiku pointed out, this is a Tayu and not an Oiran as I had assumed. Thank you both for clarification!]
This picture of an Tayu, a high-class courtesan or prostitute, comes from a german album that contains 20 small handcolored japanese photographs (early 20th century). For some reasons I think most of them have not been commercially available prints but are amateur shots. For example, the same european man appears in several of the pictures. 
I wonder if you could get your own photographs handtinted in a japanese studio or maybe hire a japanese photographer for your travels along the countryside in old Japan.
(The bluish shade in the corners is not silvering out but kind of a reflective blue color which comes out very strong on my scanner)
