A Russian Troika

            A Troika is the famous Russian sleigh carried by three horses. The beautifully decorated wooden part over the wither of the middle horse is called "duga" it holds and fixes the shafts to the harness

Even though only few works of Mazourine can be found in the web, he is considered an important precursor of the visualistic photography and was well known for his landscapes and figure compositions. He worked from 1861 - 1911 in Russia and Germany.
