DB Cargo_294 864-4_Mannheim-Neckarau 15.05.2025 [EV-Zug]

            Der Bahnhof Mannheim-Neckarau ist heute betrieblich nur noch ein Haltepunkt mit Abzweig und besticht durch eine einzigartige Mischung aus teilmodernisierten Bahnsteigen, einem völlig verwahrlosten Bahnhofsgebäude samt Bahnsteigtunnel und noch vorhandenen Beleuchtungsanlagen aus Bundesbahnzeiten. Während das Ensemble aus fotografischer Sicht durchaus seinen Reiz hat, entspricht die Verkehrsstation aus Fahrgastsicht eher der Definition eines Angstraums. Daher sind der Abriss und Neubau der Station an neuem Standort bereits beschlossene Sache. Lediglich über den genauen Umsetzungszeitpunkt diskutieren Bahn und Stadt derzeit noch…

Am 15. Mai 2025 durchfährt 294 864 mit einer Einzelwagenübergabe für den nahegelegenen Rheinauhafen den Bahnhof auf dem vom Mannheimer Rangierbahnhof kommenden Verbindungsleis. Da dieses planmäßig nur von Güterzügen genutzt wird, hat man sich die Bahnsteigerhöhung hier bei der Modernisierung gleich gespart und stattdessen ein Geländer errichtet.
