Diestelfink (♂) / European Goldfinch (♂)

            Das ist einer von drei Stieglitzen, die täglich bei mir vorbeischauen. Dieser hier ist das Männchen zum Weibchen das ebenfalls mit Foto in meinem Fotostream vertreten ist. Woran unterscheiden sich die beiden? Am besten sieht man es an der roten Maske. Bei den Männchen geht sie komplett bis hinter das Auge während sie bei den Weibchen nur bis zum Anfang des Auges reicht und dann einen kleinen Ring um das Auge herum bildet. Wenn man es weiss kann man sie nach einer Weile gut auseinanderhalten.
Um das Bild besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch anklicken gehen viele Details verloren. 

This is one of three goldfinches that visits me in my garden daily. This here is the male partner of the female that is also on display in my fotostream. How can you tell which is which? The easiest way to distinguish male from female is by looking at the red face mask. The male goldfinch  has a mask that fully reaches behind its eyes while the female's mask stops in front of the eye and seems to proceed as a ring around the eye. When you know it it is getting easier to see after a while.
To view the picture with the best resolution press the "l" (small L)  and F11 keys. When enlarging the pic by just mouse clicking you lose quality. Enjoy!
