            Eisvögel sieht man in der Regel in einer von zwei Bewegungsarten. Entweder sie sind pfeilschnell und schnurgerade unterwegs oder sie sitzen beinahe bewegungslos auf einem Ast und beobachten. Aus diesen beiden extrem unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten ergeben sich ebenso unterschiedliche Anforderungen an ein Foto. Für das fotografieren eines fliegenden Eisvogels braucht es Verschlusszeiten von 1/2000 oder schneller, ein sitzender Eisvogel kann auch relativ leicht mit einer 1/60 scharf abgelichtet werden. Im Winter, wenn es fast immer zu dunkel für kurze Verschlusszeiten ist, freut man sich also, dass man die Gelegenheit hat diese schönen Vögel beim Ansitzen beobachten und fotografieren zu können. 
Um das Bild besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch Anklicken gehen viele Details verloren. 

Kingfishers are typically seen in one of two movement modes. Either they are as fast as an arrow and dead straight on their way or they sit almost motionless on a branch, observing. These two extremely different possibilities result in equally different requirements for a photo. A shutter speed of 1/2000s or faster is required to photograph a flying kingfisher, while a sitting kingfisher can be captured easily with down to a 1/60s. In winter, when it's almost always too dark for fast shutter speeds, it's nice to have the opportunity to observe and photograph these beautiful birds perched.
