Roter Milan im Suchflug VIII / Red Kite in search flight VIII

            Während dieser Milan in etwa 15m Höhe entlanggleitet korrigiert er mit seinen Schwanzfedern permanent  Flugrichtung und Geschwindigkeit. Mit dieser ständige Bewegung des Schwanzes und den "geknickten" Flügeln ist er im Flug gut von anderen Raubvögeln wie z.B. einem Bussard zu unterscheiden. Wenn der Winter nicht zu kalt ist, kommen die Milane Mitte Februar aus ihren Winterquartieren zurück zu uns. Ich freue mich schon auf sie.
Um das Bild besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch Anklicken gehen viele Details verloren. 

While this Red Kite glides along at a height of about 15m, it constantly corrects flight direction and speed with its tail feathers. With this constant movement of the tail and the "bent" wings, it is easy to distinguish in flight from other birds of prey such as a buzzard. If the winter is not too cold, the kites come back to us from their winter quarters in mid-February. I'm looking forward to it.
