            Wie schon viele andere Bilder in meinem Stream entstand das Foto dieser Biberratte zufällig. Ich wollte an einem kleinen Teich im Stadtpark eine Teichhuhnfamilie fotografieren als ich Bewegungen im Wasser und im Schilf bemerkte. Nach einer halben Stunde warten, anpirschen und positionieren bin ich dicht genug an den pelzigen Burschen herangekommen und konnte durch die Schilfhalme ein paar Bilder aus der Nähe aufnehmen. Es futtert sehr manierlich einen dieser Halme und hält ihn dazu schön mit beiden Pfoten fest. Sieht aus wie in der Wildnis und ist doch mitten in der Zivilisation. Mir gefällt, dass es wie ein Blick ins Esszimmer der Nutrias aussieht. Im dicht besiedelten Deutschland muss man auch solche Fotogelegenheiten wahrnehmen. 
Tech. Detail: Ich war zu faul den querstehenden Schilfhalm rauszuretuschieren. Wäre er grün, hätte ich es wohl versucht. 
Tech. Detail II: Oft konvertiere ich solche Bilder in das Canon Profil "Landschaft" aber bei manchen Aufnahmen führt das (abhängig vom jeweiligen Licht) zu einem Grün, das völlig übertrieben und falsch aussieht. Deshalb habe ich hier das Profil "Standard" genutzt.

Like many other images in this stream, the photo of this coypu was taken completely by chance. I wanted to photograph a family of moorhens in a small pond in the city park when I noticed movement in the water and in the reeds. After half an hour of waiting, stalking and positioning, I got close enough to the furry fellow and was able to take a few close-up pictures through the reeds. It is feeding from a reed and is holding it nicely with both paws.  I like that it looks like a glimpse into the nutrias' dining room. The image seems like it was taken in the wilderness and yet is in the middle of civilization. In densely populated Germany, you have to take advantage of photo opportunities like this.
Tech. Detail: I was too lazy to clone out the reed stalk that was sticking out across the image. If it were green, I would have tried it.
Tech. Detail II: I often convert such images to the Canon "Landscape" profile, but in some shots this results in a green that looks completely exaggerated and wrong. That's why I used the "Standard" profile here.
