Kormoran im Flug II / Cormorant in flight II

Bei dieser Aufnahme stand ich zufällig auf einem Damm als ein Kormoran vorbeikam. Dadurch hatte ich einen relativ flachen Kamerawinkel zum Kormoran und konnte die Bäume als Hintergrund nutzen. Der AF hat diesmal gut mitgespielt: wenn der Hintergrund dunkel ist, neigt er nämlich dazu auf den Hintergrund zu fokusieren. Hier hat es so geklappt, wie man es sich wünscht.
Tech. Detail: Ich bin kein großer Fan von direktem (harten) Licht. Hier hat es funktioniert weil der Kormoran über einem Weizenfeld flog. Das helle Feld reflektierte Licht nach oben und hat die Schatten leichter gemacht. Wenn es mit hartem Licht einmal klappt, dann ist dafür auch der Eindruck von Schärfe (für das menschliche Auge) gut.

For this shot, I happened to be standing on a dam when a cormorant passed by. This gave me a relatively flat camera angle to the cormorant and I was able to use the trees as a background. The AF worked well this time: if the background is dark, it tends to overlook the motiv in the front and focus on the background. Here it worked as you would hope.
Tech. Detail: I'm not a big fan of direct (hard) light. Here it worked because the cormorant was flying over a wheat field. The bright field reflected light upwards and made the shadows lighter. And of course if it works with hard light then the impression of sharpness (for the human eye) is also good.
