Hodges Cellar Flaps, Etnam Road, Leominster, Herefordshire 26 February 2019

            Cellar flaps from the foundry of C Hodges of Ludlow in Shropshire; considerately dated 1847. A little further on, similar Hodges cellar flaps were marked 1848. 

Chaplin Hodges established a brass foundry in 1827, utilising the power generated by the wheel of Dinham Mill In Ludlow. The foundry continued until at least the late 19th Century.
