Luton and District D408SGS - a photo on Flickriver

            The larger Freight Rovers ordered by Luton and District for their Hoppanstopper branded routes managed to survive with the company into the 1990's by virtue of their larger seating capacity. Seen here in 1993 is D408 SGS heading down Hitchin Road to the Town Centre passing the Bus Station  on the left and passing under the disused bridge of the Dunstable - Hatfield railway line. Cement traffic to Dunstable had ceased in 1988 but the bridge remained in place until 2011 when removed in preparation for the building of a guided busway.
