Replacement Bus Hire | NK08CHC SPV1 | Citaro on RRP | 04/12/22

Replacement Bus Hire's Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro (NK08CHC SPV1) is seen at Clapham Junction working Southwestern Railway Replacements to and from Hampton Court.

This bus took me by surprise, as I didn't actually know RBH had a rigid citaro till an enthusiast said it might come soon (although I assumed they meant the Citaro G), so I waited 10 mins or so and nothing but E400s was to be seen, but I was coincidentally shown a picture of this bus by nl_transport of it on a different day moments before it arrived, which took me by surprise even more.

This vehicle was new in May 2008 to GoAhead group's Go North East subsidiary as their 5298 for the 35 in a striking gold Cross City Service 'laser' brand.

Around 2016, the 35 got a rebrand from 'laser' to 'see it, do it, Sunderland' in the same striking gold till 2018 when it was refurbished into the 'Tynedale Express' brand, which had a main colour of orange. It stayed in the said livery till the start of 2021 when citaros went from Go North East to Go North West.

This specific one was renumbered to 6201, although they didn't last long at all as they were rumoured to not be compatible with euro 6 conversions, so they got withdrawn by the end of 2021 and were put up for sale with the dealer Drew Wilson.

NK08CHC was eventually sold to John Hunter Coaches of Tullibody by June the following year (2022), although it didn't last long at all and is now with Replacement Bus Hire as seen in the picture.
