River Irwell & Kersal Dale1956 v 2013

Two photographs of Kersal Dale and the River Irwell taken some 57 years apart. The top picture (which has been colourised) was taken in 1956 and the bottom picture was taken on the 25th May 2013. This is the Irwell taken from the Kersal Dale side looking towards the Cliff. On the top picture you can see that Kersal Dale is still the Old Manchester Golf Club and the grand house was still on the Dale. By 2013 it had all been allowed to return to nature.
