Battingkill Average - a photo on Flickriver

            I was going to meet a buddy to shoot CSX in Palmer, MA and get lunch at the Steaming tender, as one does as a proper New England foamer. On the way out, we got good intel that the elusive Battenkill was going to be making a run. We ditched our plans, rocketed out to NY, and had ourselves a DAY shooting this incredible shortline. I'll never tire of shooting old Alcos, and I treasure this photo.
