Bolivia, Salar de Uyuni 3.700m, salt flat, Isla Incahuasi

            Isla Incahuasi  in Salar de Uyuni in the Bolivian Altiplano. Centuries-old cacti (Echinopsis atacamensis) up to 15m high. Very slow growing. 
The Salar is the largest salt pan in the world, almost 11,000 km2.  It emerged from the prehistoric, dried-up lake over 10,000 years ago. 
The salt layer below the surface reaches up to 121 m.

Isla Incahuasi im Salar de Uyuni im bolivianischen Altiplano. Jahrhundertealte Kakteen (Echinopsis atacamensis), bis zu 15 m hoch. Sehr langsam wachsend. 
Der Salar ist mit fast 11.000 km2 die größte Salzpfanne der Welt.  Sie entstand aus einem prähistorischen, ausgetrockneten See vor über 10.000 Jahren. 
Die Salzschicht unter der Oberfläche reicht bis 121 m tief.
