Clear Evening in Lawrence - a photo on Flickriver

            The 'Twin Sisters' of the North Cascade Range stand tall and proud above the pastoral farmland of the Skagit Valley at Lawrence, Washington.  The taller, south peak reaches 7,004 feet above sea level.

The evening L-NWE644 or EVESUM local is coasting along the straight and level track of the Sumas Subdivision.  For much of the Skagit Valley, the track bisects fields like the one in the foreground.

After pursuing this train on several occasions this year, I finally shot a frame at this classic location that does the place justice.
