Moon through woods - a photo on Flickriver

Moon through woods

            went down to the beach  and took some shots of the moon coming up over a  small mountain.   this is not superimposed moon,  this the actual shot with dark brought out and the moon light subdued then lighting rebalanced.  i wish i had a magic formula for shutter speed  and aperture.  i experimented and got down to 1/100 as a compromise to keep the moon light darker but it is not quite enough to bring the light out of the woods.  also tried F13 to get more detail in the moon.   btw i shone a flood light at the area while taking this shot and it obviously did not reach - nor was the shutter speed slow enough anyway to allow anything in.
If you have any suggestions re camera settings they would be appreciated.
