Don't count your chickens..or your trees for that matter !

            This then is a tree I had watched for many years. I had even worked out the night of a full moon and what time it would rise just above this tree. Any bird would do to sit atop the skeletal branches or indeed none. My plans were in place and I kept an eye open for a blue hour shot with a rising full moon.....
I had the greatest shock and disappointment the day I found this tree brought down in a storm. It  lies with a great scar but majestic still. The old man of these woods with many a story it could tell... I know because I have lived close by here the whole of my life. It sort of lies in state now though. A new path been trodden to get around it roots that lay exposed looking up at the sky to which it extended its full height in Its heyday and still holds a place in my heart....
