MM Koru 2020-07-06

            New Zealand Maori spiral pattern with native paua shell.
The difficult part of this shot was the lighting. The object is behind glass and reflections had to be avoided at all costs, yet to get all the pieces of shell to glow in their many colours, light had to come from the front. In the end I placed two diffused LED panels at the sides.  Another LED panel was waved behind the camera to bring up the colours. 

With the Pentax K-1 it was easy to set up the geometry - the camera will happily take a square picture. The vignetting was added in processing.
