Back to Nature

            A timber bush hut in the Beechworth Historic Park, not far from the Powder Magazine (which stored explosives to blast the gold-bearing reefs).  The native bush and the remains of an exotic garden are competing to overrun this undefended old dwelling, which looks as if it might once have been quite cheery and cosy...

(Back in the days of colour slides, a well-travelled senior member of my extended family used to have his wife always wear or carry something red, and then slot her into some corner of his compositions. This was to give life to shots that otherwise had an uninteresting colour palette. Without the flowers, I would not have submitted this…)
