Variation 9 of 13 -- Veins and Chains

            Three different rugs were used as backdrop in the sessions producing my set of variations on a theme of pampered and distinctive female feet, Persian rugs, and mirrors with chains, all in the flattering light from large windows. One of those rugs, though promisingly beautiful in its own right, proved to be unsympathetic, and no images with it were selected. Here is one from that subset that I thought had sufficient differences overall to merit late inclusion, after a little cropping. Even allowing for the artificially narrowed angle, it is the most intimate of the set.

This is also one of three images where the mirror chain drapes around the heel of one foot and threads between the first two toes.  That seems to have the pleasant side effect of suggesting the foot's three-dimensional curvature.
