The Baya Weaver Male. - a photo on Flickriver

            The male Baya Weaver is the master architect, building an intricate, dangling nest from grass and mud.  He constructs several nests to a partial stage, often resembling a tube with a swollen pouch at the base, and then displays by flapping his wings and calling to attract females.  A female inspects the nests and chooses the one she favors.  If a female approves, the male will finish the nest.
