Oskaloosa KS Bank Building - a photo on Flickriver

            This is the front entrance to the old Oskaloosa, KS bank building close to where we live.  I shot this recently with my Yashica LM Twin Lens Reflex camera.  This is a camera that I acquired last year at an Estate Sale and while I resisted picking it up initially because it was in such atrocious cosmetic condition, it is fast becoming one of my go-to cameras...and I think this image justifies this sentiment.  

I've described this camera in previous posts, it was one that I found at a sale in Belton, MO last year and I initially resisted the urge to buy it because of the cosmetic condition.  It was originally listed for $75 but it was absolutely filthy, as were most of the cameras at this sale.  I picked it up and it appeared to be in working condition but I just couldn't justify the cost based on the condition.  

I went back to the sale the second day when everything was 50% off and I decided to make an offer on this camera.  I also picked up several other cameras at the sale and offered the agents $25 for this camera.  They accepted and they also accepted my offer on the other cameras I was interested in.  All in all I came away with a pretty good haul that day.  

I got this camera home and did a thorough cleaning and it actually cleaned up better than I expected.  I immediately started running film through it and was amazed at how nice the images turned out.  This camera renders some of the sharpest and most contrasty images of any of my other cameras.  

It is still not exactly a looker and I often pass it by for some of my other cameras when I'm going out to shoot film, but I must admit that it is definitely a shooter and clearly one of my best cameras image for image.   Anyway, just some background.  I captured this image using TriX 400 film.  Self developed with D76 at 1:1 dilution.
