Steelhead Falls - a photo on Flickriver

Steelhead Falls

            I snapped this image of Steelhead Falls on a frigid February morning. A well-groomed trail leads downstream along the Deschutes River. Toward the end, the trail narrows and steepens, with the mists of the falls and the roar of the river letting me know I was only a few yards away from my destination. I set up the tripod on the round flat landing facing the falls and nabbed a few shots before the frosty air had all but completely frozen my fingers numb. 

While not the best image, the trek and fascination with this Central Oregon nature feature was worth the early morning hike.
