13th February 2023 - Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) & NGC 1647

            I've been wanting to get a shot of the comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) for a while now, but weather conditions haven't been the best for me (stupid clouds).

Tomorrow is my birthday, and I was gratefully gifted money, so bought a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2I. Last night the skies were clear, and although I live in a Bortle 6 location, I had to take the chance while it was there.

Framing it was a struggle. I had a vague idea of where it was, but obviously couldn't see anything due to light pollution. Thankfully after doing a couple of test exposures, I saw it pop up on my camera. Needless to say I was more than a little excited.

Here we see C/2022 E3 (ZTF) passing through the constellation Taurus, and past the open star cluster NGC 1647 (just to the left of the comet)

This image is comprised of 20 x 60 sec exposures stacked in Starry Landscape Stacker (still trying to get my head around PixInsight and comet stacking).

I know it's not amazing, but for me it's a massive accomplishment.
