GSC Camp, Fury and Hecla area, Baffin Island, 1979, viewed from the ground

            This is what the camp looked like from the ground when the helicopter was in.  It was late July and there was still ice on the lake and some snow on the ground.  The daytime temperature here would have hovered around 10 to 12 C (50 - 54 F) and 2 to 3 C (35 - 40 F) at night.
