Early bird - Spectacled Warbler in Camargue

            Curruca conspicillata (Fauvette à lunettes) - Parc Naturel Régional de la Camargue, Bouches-du-Rhône, France

Among the sylviids present in the Camargue in early April, the Spectacled Warbler is not the most common. I only saw it once, along the Digue à la mer, where a scrubby strip of land separates the sea from the freshwater ponds.

She started singing spontaneously, posed at the top of a bush, as I arrived in the area quite early in the morning to look for shorebirds. It wasn't far from me, but the light was still poor, hence the mediocre quality of the photo.

But I really like this bird, it's a very beautiful species, and I appreciated its sudden and unexpected appearance, which is why it appears in this album.

Parmi les sylviidés présents en Camargue début avril, la Fauvette à lunettes n'est pas la plus commune. Je ne l'ai vu qu'une seule fois, le long de la Digue à la mer, la où une bande de terre broussailleuse sépare la mer des étangs d'eau douce.

Elle s'est mise à chanter spontanément, posée au sommet d'un buisson, alors que j'arrivais dans le secteur assez tôt le matin pour chercher des limicoles. Elle n'était pas loin de moi mais la lumière était encore faible, d'où la qualité médiocre de la photo. 

Mais j'aime beaucoup cet oiseau, c'est une très belle espèce, et j'ai apprécié son apparition soudaine et inattendue, raison pour laquelle elle apparait dans cet album.
