Cradle for the Moon - a photo on Flickriver

            "A quite offering to the sky."

This was shot between the tree limbs as we were walking to the position to take the morning San Xavier shot.  The hills I was walking to get my vantage point is called "Grotto Hill." When you are out in the field there will always be surprises!  And there was.  I moved my body around and got on my knees (almost in prayer in a way) and aimed my gf 500 mm (yes hand held) through the branches.  I used a small automatic focus spot, and then sharpened to infinity using manual focus.  I am just amazed at what this camera can do!
