            Dingle Cottage by the Sea

     Stretching 30 miles into the Atlantic Ocean, the Dingle peninsula coastline in county Kerry is well known for its pounding waves, salty winds, dramatic cliffs and wide racing skies. While that creates a rich source for dramatic image making, the land, at times, takes on an almost fairytale mantle with its green beauty and times of peace and serenity. The stone cottage that is softly lit by the early morning sun stands in contrast to the rugged nearby sea cliffs. The cottage has stood for generations and remains occupied by a family who tends sheep on the nearby slopes. I chose an elevated panoramic perspective to provide a sense of the open remoteness of the region.
