St. Gallen 01 Kathedrale - a photo on Flickriver

            Die Kathedrale von St. Gallen prägt mit ihren beiden rund 68 Meter hohen Türmen das Stadtbild und zählt zu den bedeutendsten barocken Sakralbauten der Schweiz. Errichtet wurde sie zwischen 1755 und 1767 und ist Teil des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes Stiftsbezirk St. Gallen. Am Abend legt sich goldenes Licht über die Fassade – ein sanfter Abschluss nach einem heissen Sommertag.

St. Gallen Cathedral, with its two approximately 68-meter-high towers, dominates the cityscape and is one of the most important Baroque religious buildings in Switzerland. Built between 1755 and 1767, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Abbey District of St. Gallen. In the evening, golden light bathes the facade—a gentle end to a hot summer day.
