Honesty (Lunaria annua) - a photo on Flickriver

Taken at Saltram Estate. Honesty (Lunaria annua), originally from south-east Europe, has heart-shaped, toothed green leaves and pink, purple, or white four-petalled flowers that bloom in May and June. It produces oval, translucent seed pods, often likened to silver coins, which persist through winter. Commonly found on waste ground, verges, and railway cuttings, its name likely stems from the transparent pods.
