In the 1980s TWA based a number of 727s in Europe, to connect secondary destinations with their main hubs. When TWA's daily New York-Zürich-Vienna service was discontinued and replaced by a daily New York-Zürich-New York only service, a 727 was used to bring in the connecting passengers from Vienna.

On such a flight, B.727-31 N848TW was captured arriving on runway 14, showing the full TWA livery of that time, and right in time to connect to the airline's New York service.

N848TW was built and deliverd to TWA in 1964, and was retired at Kansas City in 1994, where it was eventually broken up in early 2000.
