56/365: Bug-Eyed

            Today's theme: Weirdness

I mostly did this because I need a good laugh... instead I left with a sore neck. Posing is no joke.

Growing up, the label "weird" was plastered to my forehead before I could even agree to it. I didn't take it well. Any hint of judgement from anyone and I would shrink back into the mask I created for myself. Someone who was "quiet" and "shy." And don't get me wrong, I still am those things, but back then, that mask was used as shield. I wanted SO DESPERATLY to be liked. To be seen as normal. Only people I grew up with knew the real me. Someone who was a bit on the quirky side. 

Fast forward 20 years, and I embrace my weirdness. My favorite thing about that part of me is that it makes people laugh. I've come to love my sense of humor and they way I look at the world. I wish younger me could've loved that part too. But she would be happy to know that many people love the true her and nothing less.

Side note: you wanna something truly weird? I haven't been shooting on RAW this whole time and I didn't realize it until now... Whoops. lol
