royal wheelbarrows at Osborne House - a photo on Flickriver

            In a garden shed fit for royalty, adjacent to the Swiss Cottage at Osborne House, is a collection of small wheelbarrows.  These were made for Victoria and Albert's children, and each is marked with the initial of its owner.

In this picture we have (left to right) the wheelbarrows belonging to Princess Helena, the Princess Royal (Victoria, their first-born child) and the Prince of Wales (Edward, the future King Edward VII).

The Swiss Cottage is a wooden chalet-style house in the grounds of Osborne House which Prince Albert had transferred from Switzerland to help educate the children in cooking and (in the adjacent garden) growing vegetables.
