the trench run - a photo on Flickriver

the trench run

            This makes me think of that scene in the original Star Wars (episode 4) where Luke Skywalker navigates his decisive bomb run down a narrow trench to destroy the Death Star using only the Force to guide him.

But in fact it's part of the concrete detailing on the northern side of Colechurch House, a brutalist office building near London Bridge.  It was designed by architect E.G. Chandler and built in 1973.  (Maybe this inspired the Star Wars designers at Industrial Light & Magic...)
