            70th Anniversary for Ferrari.

It is now 70 years since the "Prancing Horse" logo appeared on Ferrari cars.

During the First World War flying machines were attached to the Cavalry Regiments in the Italian services. 

One Italian air ace, who was also an expert horseman, had a black horse painted on the fuselage of his aircraft . The pilot was killed in action but some 20 years later, his parents met Enzo Ferrari and they suggested Ferrari put the black horse logo on his new racing cars as a symbol of good luck.

The Prancing Horse Scuderia Ferrari logo is now known all over the world.

Here it is displayed on a Sheaffer limited edition fountain pen to commemorate 70 years of the Ferrari brand.
