Muscari on the rocks - a photo on Flickriver

            Shot for Active Assignment Weekly, theme "Frozen".

I think that we will have no winter in The Netherlands this year, so this theme has its issues... But luckily I have a freezer! So I put a Muscari flower in a container full of water and let is freeze for a few days. I put the block of melting ice under a light source and made a focus stack of it, consisting of 200 shots. This sounds like a lot of work but the camera does al the work. Next I stacked the shots with Helicon Focus and post-processed it in Lightroom. And here it is, as close as I can get to Frozen!
