A Cold Day on the Sidings! - a photo on Flickriver

            Two pieces of ancient Victorian railway hardware standing in the snow at Beamish Museum, patiently waiting for the as yet unspecified restoration day.

On the left is 1901-built Manning Wardle 0-6-0ST No.1532 "Newcastle" and, on the right, and looking badly in need of at least a coat of paint, is an 0-4-0ST industrial engine of dubious pedigree. It is believed to have been built around 1900 from available spare parts and to have worked in Stockton Ironworks. It carries the number "5" and the name "Malleable".
