            The M1A1 90mm anti-aircraft gun became the standard anti-aircraft weapon for the defense battalions of the U. S. Marine Corps. The 90mm gun was a multipurpose weapons system that was used extensively throughout the Pacific Theater during World War II. It was used primarily to engage air targets but was also employed on ground targets when necessary.
