Yamanote Line Shibuya Station on January 8, 2023: 13

            The code on the car was “Saha E231-1060.” It is car No.6 of 10-car E231 series train “K-15.” According to the web, the extra 15-car train to compensate the suspension of Yamanote consisted of “K-15” and “E-55,” a five car E233 series.

Before August 2004, Saha E231-1060 was car No.4 of “U520.” Then, the car and Saha E231-1059 were separated from the train due to the addition of two new Green Cars. They were coupled with eight newly built cars to form the K-15.
