Voergård 2023 [Explored]

Little has happened to the manorhouse in the 176 years since Ferdinand Richardt drew it (see the previous photo in the photostream) - an adjacent building in the yard has been torn down.
Richardt was a Danish-American artist who was born in Denmark in 1819.
After emigrating to the United States in 1855 he specialized in paintings of Niagara Falls and other landscapes. Today, his paintings are held and exhibited by museums and other public institutions in the United States and Denmark; two hang in The White House, Washington, D.C.

The renaissance castle/mansion was expanded and completed in 1588, on behalf of Ingeborg Skeel. The older part is the wing to the left.

Today the castle/mansion is open to the public and houses a significant art collection.
