Ford Bronco 4-Door (2021 U725)

            Ford has now released a lot more information regarding the 2021 Bronco, launched earlier this year.

Among the information is a whole bunch of technical dissection - the Full-frame chassis underpinning both 2-door and 4-door Bronco, developed in conjunction with the T6 Ranger team.

The Bronco received an all-new 5-link Panhard-rod, coil sprung rear suspension, assessed as the best way to achieve high levels of rear wheel articulation. Front suspension is a wide-track version of the T6 platform, again designed to maximise wheel articulation, with an option sway-bar disconnect to lower the front roll stiffness. This disconnect can be operated and reinstated whilst the Bronco is moving.

One key challenge for the Bronco team was the revisions to the chassis and suspension to permit the fitment of 35-inch tires, while still meeting all the tire package, and dynamics requirements. The 35-inch tires can fitted as optional equipment on most Bronco variants.

An exciting new addition to the T6 architecture set was a variant of the 2.7L V6 Ecoboost family - a first time application to the platform. In the Bronco this is rated at approximately 325 PS.

A more 'fun' oriented feature is the removeable roof (multi-section) and doors, which can be stored in the luggage area in what has come to be known as the 'Toaster rack'
