Il chiostro dell'Abbazia di Chiaravalle della Colomba - "Chiaravalle della Colomba" abbey, the cloister

            Questa abbazia si trova ad Alseno, in provincia di Piacenza. 
La sua fondazione risale al 1135: la leggenda narra di una colomba che, volando su un prato e spargendo pagliuzze con il becco, indicò il luogo per la sua costruzione.
Il complesso venne rimaneggiato nel '600 e fu ripristinato alle condizioni romaniche originali tra la fine dell'800 e la metà del '900. 
Il chiostro è molto suggestivo: da notare le colonne attorcigliate in primo piano!

This abbey is located in the italian village of Alseno, in the province of Piacenza. It was founded in 1135 by Cistercian monks.
The whole complex was modified in the XVII century and then it was restored to the original romanic conditions between the end of the XIX and middle of XX century. 
The cloister is very evocative: to be noted the twisted columns in the foregorund!
