„Господе, Ти благосиљаш оне који Тебе благосиљају, и освећујеш оне који се у Тебе уздају, спаси народ твој и благослови наслеђе твоје, чувај пуноћу Цркве твоје, освети оне које љубе красоту дома твога; Ти их прослави божанском силом твојом, и не остави нас који се у Тебе надамо; даруј мир свету твоме, Црквама твојим, свештеницима и свему народу твоме. Јер сваки добри дар, и сваки савршени поклон одозго је, силази од Тебе, Оца Светлости, и Теби славу и благодарење и поклоњење узносимо, Оцу и Сину и Светоме Духу, сада и увек и у векове векова.“

► █░▓    This is the 'PRAYER BEHIND THE AMBON' taken by the priest who is standing here between the two deacons (this follows when the Holy Communion has taken place followed by the 'Thanksgiving Prayer'). The words exclaimed by the priest at this moment are: 
"O Lord, Who blesses those who bless You and sanctifies those who put their trust in You, save Your people and bless Your inheritance. Protect the whole body of Your Church. Sanctify those who love the beauty of Your house. Glorify them in return by Your divine power, and forsake us not who have set our hope in You. Grant peace to Your world, to Your churches, to the clergy and to all Your people. For every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from You, the Father of lights. To You we give glory, thanksgiving, and worship, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages."

THIS SERVICE IS OLDER than either of the other two Byzantine Liturgies (Chrysostom and the Presanctified), and is mentioned under the name of St. Basil in ancient times as if it were then the normal Liturgy. It differs very little from the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom; the primary difference being in the silent prayers said by the priest and the hymn All of Creation which replaces the usual Axion Estin. In general, the prayers of St. Basil are more penitential, and therefore lend themselves to the Church's liturgical preparation for important holy days; hence, their use during Great Lent which has begun on March 2nd this year (2020).
Icons have a special place in the service on the first Sunday of Great Lent - The Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy.
