Beatrix Regional Hospital - a photo on Flickriver

► █░▓    The end of THE LAST WINTER DAY in Arkelstad paints some fun over the sky at dusk... The low sun rays reach only some clouds and the tallest condo in the town. 

Handheld against the balcony fence, this inexpensive zoom lens has no IS. The camera scene mode (sunset ) did a fine job bringing up the colors, but the jpeg still has more noise and artefacts compared to raw. So I used the latter. But I guess this gain is lost after the upload, due to compression which Flickr obviously applies over the original.

Olympus E-M10 with 40-150mm zoom at its shortest end, fully open aperture f/4, shutter speed 1/100 sec. I made another shot with aperture closed down half a stop but it turned out less sharp than this one. 

Developed from raw and edited in Affinity Photo. Slightly sharpened in IrfanView. The image is neither cropped nor compressed.
