TORENFLAT Record from 1959, Arkelstad

            ► █░▓    HIGHER STOREYS of this condo are basking in the setting sun eleven minutes before the astronomical sunset, while the lower floors have already lost sight of it. The high-rise built in 1959 reaches up to 53 meters above ground and has received its first dwellers in 1961. It is believed to be the first high-rise condominium built in the Lowlands (riding on the wave of optimism after the World War II) and almost made it to the list of National Historic Monuments. 

THE SYMBOLIC ROOF in the form of a dark pyramid (in the lower right corner of the frame) belongs to the former Exoduskerk. This protestant community seized to exist and left the premises in January 2019 to give way to a commercial undertaking. This is the destiny of the most churches in the town and elsewhere nation-wide. 

The pyramid looks adjacent to the condo but lies in fact at the distance of 300 meters from it. This is a good example of the extreme perspective flattening which long telephoto does with the objects positioned in different focal plains. The distance from the lens to the condo is 1200 m and to the pyramid 900 m.

Recently I watched some videos and photos by the people who use specialized software for the extra noise reduction and recommend use of the very high ISO-values. Therefore I made a test - took this one at ISO 400 and another snapshot as this with the same settings, except the ISO now at 1600 (both handheld). The difference is actually not much, just the two stops of light. The second one with the higher ISO is a tiny bit sharper, but much noisier. I still preferred this one which is much much cleaner.
