HEY, LEY, where you goin' with that gas in your hull

            ꒌ     .........ЈЕСЕН НА РАЈНИ. Подне је прошло, 🇳🇱Хејли ⎈ — рекло би се празан — жури лагано узводно најјачим краком реке Рајне у њеној делти. Последњи налет ветра тог дана срушио је мој бицикл паркиран на обалном насипу само што сам стигао тамо. Пао је преко бисаге у којој је незаштићен фото-апарат. Мој скоро колекционарски примерак стар 13 година изгубио је вредност, али не и функционалност. Сломљен је дисплеј а остало изгледа ради. Ово је прва слика начињена после хаварије. 

► █░▓  ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈   JUST AFTER the NOON, HEYLEY rushes upstream grey waters of Merwede, the strongest branch of Rhine in its delta. It's a nice day, no rain in November means bingo. But I have just started a new spiritual recovery path, so the demons of mischief get awakened. They start the operation 'Bad Luck, You Maniac' and strike again. Last Monday as always I had my trusty E-M1 original in the soft wheel-side bike bag. When arrived at the river bank, a hefty wind gust 💨overturned my bike. It fell on top over the bag. The back screen of this first Olympus E-M1 model (not retractable) got finitely damaged. No more tripod shots. I even wonder if the EVF can replace the back screen for all of the settings and operations? Probably not.

HAYLEY is an inland tanker for liquid cargo. She is sailing under the flag of 🇳🇱Netherlands. Her length overall is 84 meters and her width 9 meters. Draught is 2 meters. At the time of publishing this image she is moored on Noordzeekanaal in Ruigoord, half way between Amsterdam and the North Sea. 

Among all my identity struggles, I may be both a working photographer and a collector. But the former first and foremost. So not too many regrets over this damage. It's the price you pay for being active. The E-M1 orig. body (2013) must have had the very top sensor at its launch. I still enjoy it so much. Will post now first several captures done with that broken screen. This is the first one. The camera functions seem to be unaffected by the broken screen. But the EVF was and is the weak side of this camera. Olympus never cared to improve the EVF of their E-M1 orig/II/III series until they were sold to OM Systems. The OM-1 then finally got a descent EVF. 

Olympus E-M1 orig, Olympus M.75-300mm f/4.8-6.7ii zoomed fully out. Overexposed ⅓ of a stop. Handheld with support. Shutter speed priority 1/800 resulting in f/5.0 and ISO 250. WB manual (cloudy). Sooc jpeg (barely touched in Photos 10.0). Uncompressed, uncropped. Lots of surface here to get rid of ("negative space"). But somehow I like showing the expanses of this river and the skies above. Thus NOT cropping anything 😋.
