First/Last Motel, Glenrio,TX Rte 66 - a photo on Flickriver

            This is another casualty of Interstate 40 on Route 66.  Depending on which direction you were driving, this would be the first or last motel you would see in Texas.  Glenrio was split between the two states during the Route 66 era.  Now the only business is the marijuana dispensary on the New Mexico side of the town.  They look like they get a nice bit of business from the Texas side that can't buy marijuana in their state. As you can see, the graffiti artists have started to take over.  I'm sure if I come back here again it will look a lot different. There wasn't much left of this ghost town, but it was a fun stop.
