15 inch gauge 4-6-4DH 'Shelagh of Eskdale' at Muncaster Mill. R&ER. 2005.

            15 inch gauge 4-6-4DH named 'Shelagh of Eskdale' (Severn Lamb - /1969) is seen approaching Muncaster Mill station with the 13.30 Ravenglass to Dalegarth (Eskdale) passenger service. The R&ER was originally built as a 3ft gauge mineral railway but was regauged after it closed in 1913. W.J Bassett-Lowke the renown model locomotive engineer resurrected the line from 1915 and converted it to 15 inch gauge to test out the locomotives he was building. The line saw a new lease of life with freight and passenger services and survives to this day as a tourist attraction.
