BnM loco LM333 plus railcar C64 on Littleton Bog. Co. Tipperary. Éire. 1991.

            BnM Wagonmaster class Hunslet (HE 8940/1981) numbered LM333 is seen with railcar no.C64 known as a Caravan hence the C classification in the running number on Littleton Bog. We were travelling from Lanes Park Briquette Factory to Templetuohy Works a distance of 11 miles and at this point had run about 4 miles. The Briquette Factory is just visible in the left distance beyond the exposed peat where the silo elevator can be glimpsed against the far horizon.

This trip was a private charter organised with a group of friends to traverse some of the BnM mainlines on the various systems scattered across the Irish midlands. Being a founding member it was my late father who made the headboard and from 1990 we called ourselves the KEG (Kentrail Enthusiast Group). Membership was by invitation and I think still is and we specialized in industrial railways in the UK and Ireland. The group still exists and although I am no longer a member as its focus shifted to miniature railways. The group is now well established arranging visits to private and public railways and produces a series of map books and other related publications often in conjunction with the UK Branch Line Society.
