BnM no. LM333 and Railcar C64 at Littleton Works.

            Templetoughy allocated Hunslet Wagonmaster no. LM333 (works no 8940/1981) is seen outside the workshops at Lanespark Briquette Factory which was part of the Littleton Peat Works. It is coupled to rail caravan no.C64 prior to departure with a private charter for members of the KEG "KentRail Enthusiast Group". This was a small group of friends with membership by invitation mostly visiting industrial railways in the late 80's early 90's. The plan was to traverse the 13 mile long interconnecting line between the Littleton and Templetouhy systems via the Longfordpass route crossing the North Black River bridge which separated the two networks. Having turned up with our headboard primarily for a few posed photos at the works the plant foreman duly summoned a welder to affix a standard BR size lamp bracket to the loco bonnet so the headboard could be conveyed throughout the journey. So LM333 was the only BnM loco I know of to end up with a front lamp bracket !
I was always amazed at how friendly and accommodating BnM staff could be if you let them know you were coming to visit, its so sad to think this is all history now. For completeness the loco at the rear is LM325 a Littleton allocated Wagonmaster readily identifiable by its unique mustard and white livery.
